Web alarm clock for 4:38 a.m.
As you hand over the sow’s farrowing watch at 4:38 am, set this alarm so the next person has a clear time check while settling beside the pen. The 5:00 am mark gives them a natural point to review the piglets, the sow, and any notes you leave before stepping away from the family farm’s overnight shift.
During a farrowing handover, an alarm can look properly set yet play through earphones that were connected earlier, leaving the person by the pen unable to hear it. Check where a sample sound comes from, then remove or disconnect the earphones if the alert should be audible in the shed. Keep this browser session active and the phone awake: if either stops running, the farrowing alarm may never sound for the person taking over.
A farrowing pen can be noisy when the sow shifts, piglets squeal, rain hits a metal roof, or roosters begin before dawn. By this point of the night, some farm sounds may fade while others grow sharper toward 5:00 am. Put the phone close enough to rise above that changing noise, but somewhere dry and clear of bedding, buckets, gates, and moving animals.
