Web alarm clock for 5:45 p.m.

You have just woken up at 5:45 pm, and the earthquake preparedness drill is still waiting to be set up. Use the next few minutes to clear your head, review the sequence, and place any signs or supplies where participants can reach them. By 6:00 pm, you can begin the session with a calm explanation of what everyone will practise.

Because the drill depends on a clear starting cue, test the alarm before relying on it. Set a brief trial, keep the sound audible, and confirm that you notice it from the part of the room where you will be organising the activity. The earthquake preparedness drill could start late if the browser is no longer active or the phone or computer has gone to sleep, so keep the alarm page open and the device awake until 5:45 pm.

Waking for an afternoon drill can leave you deciding whether to stay up or return to sleep afterward. Before the session begins, prepare what you will need for later rest: dim the sleeping area, set aside water, and choose a separate wake-up time if another commitment follows. Keeping the 5:45 pm alarm focused on the earthquake preparedness drill also prevents it from becoming your only plan for the sleep that remains.
